Is your organization currently seeking new sources of funding to invest in leading edge technologies?
The Advanced Manufacturing Inestment Strategy (AMIS) is a $500 million fund offering 5 year interest free loans to a maximum of $10 million towards projects with investment of no less than $50 million, and/or will create or retain a minimum of 150 high value jobs. (A $10 million dollars interest-free for five years would equal savings of $2,313,466.08 when compared to a cost of borrowing of 4.25% annually.)
The fund is designed to help companies take immediate steps in developing and using leading technologies and innovations that will keep them globally competitive. Program support is focused on new manufacturing processes and technologies, materials innovations, innovative waste management technologies, and energy efficiencies. Projects must take place at Ontario-based facilities, and undertaken by companies that operate in Ontario.
Those companies eligible for the loan, as well as many smaller companies currently undertaking research and development projects are also entitled to a cash refund of almost 45% of those research and development costs through the Canada Revenue Agency's Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program.
